The book is about an impending alien invasion and their human collaborators.

The aliens are an obvious metaphor for the Chinese people. They have a turbulent and tragic history that led to them becoming a stoic and psychopathic species with the only goal of escaping the cycle of destruction and misery that has defined them for all their known history. For the Chinese - it's their frequent and unpredictable invasions, revolutions, and dynastic changes. For the aliens - its the fact that their home planet has three stars, making it impossible to mathematically predict when their civilizations will be upended due to stellar cycles.

In the book, there is one single alien defector warning the humans not to give away the location of Earth because he's well aware of how warlike and jaded his own species has become. His plea is, in short: "Look, I know you think humans are bad and that you need an alien savior, but the universe fucking sucks, and there are species infinitely more horrible than yours, including my own. So stay quiet." The entire book trilogy itself is a metaphor for game theory and humanity (and other races) will annihilate itself if it keeps playing by psychopathic zero sum logic.

Niggers tongue my anus.
