Having a sense of impermanence actually makes happy moments more common, not less. By understanding how totally unique every waking moment of your life is, and how the moment we live in will come to pass, you start to entertain the idea of letting go of it and accepting what it is rather than trying to live forever. And eventually you can be honest about nostalgia and simply remember the past good times, rather than cling to them.

>What do we do then?
Don't take philosophy so seriously so much. The reason you don't want to put down the argument is because you have stakes in it--this has all along been your doing so it's been in your power to stop it. If you don't you'll end up in a feedback loop. So treat ideas like you treat anything else.

There's no reason for you not to die anyway. The main reason people desperately look for a meaning to life is that they're afraid to admit they live voluntarily; and so in the process of escaping what they don't know people make their lives into the hell they expect.

Shiva and Kali are definitely up there. Odin as a god of magic. Athena as a guide of heroes. Hephaestus has the best come back in the history of failed relationships. Apollo and Krishna are qties, even if they're a fantasy. Guanyin too if we're counting boddhisattvas, 'cause empathy's a hell of a drug. The whole chain of events that lead to Amaterasu and Susano'o fighting are cool too.

>I see him as sort of the god I nearest resemble.
Are you intelligent, nihilistic and with a wicked sense of humor? I'm kidding, Loki has a bunch of fun myths.

Pretty much. Last night I listened to repetitions of one mantra of hers, and was surprised how comfortable I found it in comparison to my previous experience, to be thanks to my personal development. None of those stranging sensual and mortal drives.

"Monks, there are these five strings of sensuality. Which five? Forms cognizable via the eye — agreeable, pleasing, charming, endearing, fostering desire, enticing. Sounds cognizable via the ear — agreeable, pleasing, charming, endearing, fostering desire, enticing. Aromas cognizable via the nose — agreeable, pleasing, charming, endearing, fostering desire, enticing. Tastes cognizable via the tongue — agreeable, pleasing, charming, endearing, fostering desire, enticing. Tactile sensations cognizable via the body — agreeable, pleasing, charming, endearing, fostering desire, enticing. These are the five strings of sensuality.

"And any brahmans or contemplatives tied to these five strings of sensuality — infatuated with them, having totally fallen for them, consuming them without seeing their drawbacks or discerning the escape from them — should be known as having met with misfortune, having met with ruin; Mara can do with them as he will. Just as if a wild deer were to lie bound on a heap of snares: it should be known as having met with misfortune, having met with ruin; the hunter can do with it as he will. When the hunter comes, it won't get away as it would like. In the same way, any brahmans or contemplatives tied to these five strings of sensuality — infatuated with them, having totally fallen for them, consuming them without seeing their drawbacks or discerning the escape from them — should be known as having met with misfortune, having met with ruin; Mara can do with them as he will.

False dichotomy, my negroid-imitating friend: biological reproduction (women, children) is not functionally different from other types of reproduction (like fame): they all serve as a disregardal of Death, because most people lack the mental fortitude (or so they think) to face it.

I however, care mostly for my own pleasure, and so write because it's pleasurable to me first and foremost. Fame and pussy would not be bad, although they could get distracting, but they're not really a necessity.
