His ear was notched because he was an outdoor cat. It's a thing so that people will know they've been vaccinated and spayed/neutered. You know, for catch and release and all that.

He's not a manx, though. He had a tail and I had it amputated because there were severed nerves in it and he could no longer move it. It was a pretty bad injury. Thankfully he's *mostly* healthy now. :)

I specifically seek out higher quality wet foods with a lower protein content. He has kidney disease and has had an improvement in his chart numbers.

He also only has canines, so wet food is easier for him to eat. I do give him little treats of grated cheese(just one sliver) or will make a piece of unseasoned meat whenever I cook. I also give him sniffs of everything I cook with, even though he won't touch fruits. It's just too cute watching him stand up.
