I wonder if that was a subtle reference to the 'Wandering Jew' legend/folklore that existed in much of Europe, given his love for them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wandering_Jew

>The Wandering Jew is a mythical eternal whose legend began to spread in Europe in the 13th century. The original legend concerns a Jew who taunted Jesus on the way to the Crucifixion and was then cursed to walk the earth until the Second Coming.

Socrates valued the Gods first, and Wisdom second - however much he argued otherwise.

That is why he didn't go full Hegesias and advocate suicide.

Hey /lit/, I have a bit of a problem.

The last few years or so I've been rejecting the "social norm" of socializing, making friends, talking and generally going out. Its not that im trying to be "edgy" or anything. Just I grew tired of all the futile conversations with friends.

But herein is the problem; I've been becoming increasingly depressed. I spend more time sitting at my desk looking out the window thinking of ways to do myself in, instead of what I used to do (reading, studying, painting etc) And im worried I might not get out (alive)...

Has anyone else ever gotten into a mindset like this before? Anybody know how and if I can get out?

Also general /lit/ related feels. Lets get to know the emotional side of todays armchair philosophers and authors.
