My friends and family (of my generation) range from 1990 to the early 2000s and literally no one fucking reads but my -00 cousin and I. They might listen to an audiobook now and then, a few might read a novel per year. It's not really generational, and trying to slot people into strict categories does no one any favours at all - especially not non-americans, to whom the exceedingly american labels rarely apply with any accuracy, if at all. Those with an active interest in literature have always been a minority.

I find myself in the same state of quantum spirituality that Evola was probably at. Pure atheism seems completely untenable, but at the same time I feel no need to attach myself to a spiritual path or religion, nor does one give me enough to come to it's side. Where the hell do you go from here? I guess the only thing to do is go balls deep into ascetic "world overcoming" practices and transcendental states and see if something can be discovered first hand. That or wait for the god emperor.

Ok I'll read it. I was a retard in HS and never actually did my assigned reading. I probably skimmed it and looked at the SparkNotes on the way to school, but I have zero recollection of what happened in the story. It makes me feel dumb thinking how many good stories I probably missed out on.
