Why the fuck did you tell me these were evil jews trying to destroy Western civilization? All they tried to do was save culture from the liberalism of the Enlightenment. Currently reading my first philosophy book (by the board‘s favorite thinker, Habermas) and I wondered how people make excerpts. I am enjoying myself but I also think that I should write while reading to make sure that I actually understand and have something i could use for later time in a Zettelkasten kind of way but how do people actually make philosophs notes while reading? Do people basically copy every sentence of thinkers like Kants and then add their thoughts? How do excerpts actually work?

Any books on the Frankfurt School and it's wide range of influence in all areas of modern life?

Gender and race are the two most obvious examples (these are reifications, or "spooks"). Frankfurt School, as a type of postmodernism, has been one of those movements which is brave enough to oppose scientific theory. They're also obviously critical of all other "reified" philosophies like Hegelianism, classical Marxism, and the (non-philosophical) constructions by capitalism like markets, modern economic theory, etc.

Hearing my acquaintance ramble about how marxism would totally be beneficial to individuals made me feel like it's our day's chrisitanity. Religion for slaves(with some pretences to scientific foundation). There's nothing more valuable than individual rights.

Any good books on the Frankfurt School? After reading Patrick Buchanan’s Death Of The West I was really introduced to its ideas alongside Gramsci. Aside from the Culture if Critique are there any good books on this?

I can't help but think that the Frankfurt School writers' attitude towards the cultural shifts during their time really got its start in Nietzsche's criticism of Wagner, but that they misunderstood Wagner and how highly Nietzsche still regarded him and his work. Is there any truth to this / scholarship worth reading on this?
