your dream obviously said something with its images. the murderer who visited you is your shadow. the mother, an important dream figure is a representation of anima, an unconscious female principle important part of male mind. There is a connection between an anima and the shadow - both inhabit an unconscious mind.

There is a 'hidden' link in folklore and alchemy between the lady and the dragon. The princess in the castle and the dragon have a secret agreement. Obviously dragon is meant to be conquered and lady to be saved - they seem to know it.

You may have escaped the shadow in one form, but soon it appeared again in the form of cops.
