War for the sake of war becomes the ultimate luxury good. And what is more attractive than what is unattainable? The end game of capital is that war will be engaged by those who are willing and able to pay for it. It will be pure war for the sake of war, but with its collateral damage bounded by the need to protect capital flows as a whole.
