If you want people to make good posts then make threads worth posting in. Trying to get a decent discussion out of the thousandth 'what did i think of it?' or book recommendation thread is like trying to draw blood from a stone. The biggest problem with /lit/ isn't that there is shitposting, or /pol/ posting—it's that almost every thread is boring and has no room for elaboration.
