Maybe this should be it's own thread buy i'm sleepy and just want a quick blogpost.
Originality is really strange. I feel really sad when i come up with something and later find out someone had done it before. I don't know if i just picked things up through cultural osmosis.
A sci fi example would be dyson spheres for me, i remember imagining something very similar to it when i was a kid. A non sci fi example (and what made me blogpost) would be All quiet on the western front. Despite not having read the book (or seen an adaptation) i wrote a story for an assignment that now, having read it, seems like it's been ripped straight from that book.
