a grifter lauded by edgy counter-cultural icons or a landmark genius in philosophy and theism? I really can't figure it out at this point.

I'm not a christian but I'm a theist and sympathetic to christianity. I cannot deny the influence this man has had on the contemporary culture and elites. Is there any way for me to read him or get to know what he's all about without losing the favor of God?
Should I just read him? Where do I start?

Never got around to read much of Crowley. I have at least a basic understanding of the occult symbology and kabbalah.

Where should I start, and where should I go from there?

What does /lit/ think of Crowley as a writer and philosopher?

>Death implies change and individuality; if thou be THAT which hath no person, which is beyond the changing, even beyond changelessness, what hast thou to do with death?
>The birth of individuality is ecstasy; so also is its death.
>In love the individuality is slain; who loves not love?
>Love death therefore, and long eagerly for it.
>Die Daily.

As a fascist I disagree with Evola's opinions on fascism but his logic is sound and he makes good points in most of his work and includes educational material.
You're an ideologue if you think he's bad from a literary standpoint.

Pic related, even if you're into esoteric mysticism you can start with much better people. Crowley was much more interesting as a person than as a writer.

Bury me in an nameless grave!
I came from god the world to save.
I brought them wisdom from above:
Worship, and Liberty, and Love.
They slew me for I did disparage
Therefore Religion, Law, and Marriage.
So be my grave without a name
That earth may swallow up my shame!

Checked.

That Jung lived obviates my existence.

I've read Man and His Symbols, The Gnostic Jung by Hoeller, some of von Franz and Edinger's works, and a good portion of Joseph Campbell's oeuvre. I'm excited to tear into Jung's essays on active imagination. This Swiss genius has done more for me as a writer than anyone else on Earth.
