My story is very similar to yours, but I found my self freely describing myself as Christian sometime last year, when I was 26. There’s no closed form answer for everyone other than to keep seeking. I was mildly interested in esoteric stuff because I’m autistic and ended up reading a ton of Jung, which gave me an agreeable framework for Christ as an archetype of wholeness, which explains many paradoxical claims about his nature. That wasn’t put to use without the active faith of women in my life, however. I’m at a point now where my former agnosticism makes as little sense to me as theism did to my agnostic self. Then “literal” occurrence of the events of the Bible or not has no impact on my understanding of God, or my acceptance of Christ as my guiding spirit.

The Economic ideology is free market capitalism, or I guess I could say Neo-liberalism. The Social idealogy is very much mixed, a lot of conservative voices, a lot of democratic voices, less truly Progressive voices, and less fringe far right voices (though people like Eric Prince, Marie Le Penn, and Steve Bannon persist in the system), I guess I could say socially we are shifting further right. We may be screwed.
