This is no b8. I don't claim to be a genius, but I feel like I'm living in a black hole where people who read even a little bit cannot survive. Any books for this feel?

Chances are you've read more books than Plato, Aristotle, Aquinas and Dante combined. Yet your contribution to society won't approach even 1/10,000 of theirs.

Doesn't this suggest that having read all the classics isn't reason to count yourself as superior to Joe Sixpack?

If people like Faulkner and Joyce wrote today, would they be disregarded for "convoluted prose" and "intellectual masturbation"?
