It very very much depends on what you want out of them. Edward Feser engages a lot with modern philosophy, especially philosophy of science. His book Aristotle's Revenge is highly recommended. His blog is also very highly reccomended. Maritain and Gilson are older Thomists whose books on Aquinas are classic introductions, and their books work in a Neothomistic vein. Maritain's Art and Scholasticism is a favorite. Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange was an actual Dominican of the strictest possible Neothomistic school, his books are great for their specificity and faithfulness to the original Aquinas' thought.
