The thru-line of the novel is, you know those campus comedies where the smug tour guide will turn and address the camera? it's that except the teacher at REDACTED High who is running the Department of Education's controversial Death Education class, who is being interviewed by the BBC for a TV documentary. We meet the student cast of characters through this lit gimmick during filming in the classroom and interviews with students about how they feel about it.
