I know a lot of you guys like to read standalones, and say that if the author can't say it in one book, it isn't worth hearing... but don't you think that it takez considerable skill the effectively tell a story over multiple books? You have to keep the tone, and progression relative over multiple books.

Any idiot can write 500k words of none sense, stuff it in a book, release a few farts and call it a masterpiece.
