Hi Christians

I have a serious question and am not trying to troll

The catechism of the Catholic church clearly describes homosexual intercourse as a gravely disordered behavior etc.

But similar language is uses for masturbation, fornication, and so on. Similarly it's considered a horrific practice to abort a child with downs syndrome, for example.

My question is why do many Christians fixate on the issue of homosexuality in comparison to these other sins?

There doesn't seem from my perspective to be a lot of Christians extremely closely attaining the moral goals of their religion condemning homosexuality

Instead I basically seem to see people who have immense problems in their own lives but are willing to castigate others ruthlessly for probably one of the few sins they don't commit, maybe because they simply lack the temptation

Why?
