Superhero stories are ultimately about maintaining the status quo (ie rich people controlling everything). That's why villains are always people who want to change the world like Magneto, Doom and Thanos.

I believe that most modern fictional is propaganda created by the rich to subliminally convince us that maintaining the status quo is good and that changing it is evil. It is essentially order vs chaos.
