How many "Orthodox" rites are there by the way? And how many "Orthodox" rites are in a state of mutual excommunication? Orhotodoxy is basically another Protestant sect at this point, just as they were destined to become the moment they all broke from Rome, the Rock of Christ's Church, the Shepherd of Christ's Flock, the Vicar of Christ.

The point is to not join a church where the founder left another church and decided to do their own thing, or where they read the bible and came to the conclusion that everyone else was wrong and that they need to start a church where they finally get it right.

Instead, look for the true Church, as is described in scripture and that the Church fathers continued. There can only be one, and there are certain defining characteristics which scripture also says that it must have.

Protestants going off of the bible alone is completely ahistorical and almost self-contradictory in a number of ways. It's just not how the Church originally functioned and it leads a lot of people away from where the true struggles of Christianity lie - in actually turning from sin, yearning to do God's will, and developing a deep spiritual life. Protestants often end up doing endless bible studies instead of doing actual spiritual readings, because they have nothing else to look at and none of them trust each other.
