>Americans are already deep in a culture war over morality—marijuana, abortion, same-sex marriage. We are already racially polarized over affirmative action and income inequality. And when we have ceased to be an English-speaking, Christian country and become instead an Asian-Hispanic-African-American-white nation, with large Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, agnostic and atheist minorities, and no defined borders, or common faith and culture, what holds us together?

>What is the moral argument for an affirmative action that justifies unending race discrimination against a declining white working class, who have become the expendables of our multicultural regime?

>There is but one single world for us as men. We are men, and we must follow the world of men contentedly.

>Yet there is a world of happiness where there is no difference between things because there is no one there to ask about the difference. I have seen that world, but that is not the world of men.

What did he mean by this?

Quick question: is /lit/ infected with /pol/ now too? Fit is already pretty fucking bad, /tv/ is garbage, which leaves me pretty much nothing left.

Ready to call it quits of the most elitist insular board on 4chan has devolved to jerking off to grocery store check-out aisle literature.

Are there any good books capturing the surreality and absurdity of the current postmodernist, digital, increasingly automated western world?
It just kinda feels like, at least for me as a west german, that we are at a weird crossroad between the values and institutions of the old world of the 20th century and the ones of the 21st, and that we are pretty awkwardly stuck between them.

There was this one thing he could never stand: peacefulness. When things go well, and there is nothing to be aware of. He needed to be weary, and maybe even on the edge of anger, that's how he felt good. With his girl aside, maybe. His friends drinking and screaming at the living room, setting something on fire. He needed that sense of chaos to keep things inside himself going. Maybe that was his natural state. Chaos is the natural, original state of mind. He hated those calm silent mornings in which he is at the presence of someone else, looking out there to the beauty of this one snowy, cold, white winter. The adjectives he thought about beauty were always redundant, even sounding like he never actually thought about beauty. These moments of joyful picnics, or pleasant sunday lunch time where everyone is having a good time, or being right there into the warm, comfortable room, standing in front of the window, with stern eyes and clenched teeth, forcing the jaws against each other, trying to hold his impatience. Whispers, hot chocolate, a "good morning", a beautiful natural landscape, or actually fun and likeable people wanting to befriend him. And little bunches of puppies, and the flowers, and the snow he was seeing for the first time yet he didn't care a thing about, and the girl who was at best going to be a fuck buddy lying on the bed, sound asleep. And the possibility that things were going to be at least decent to his life right now. And if you realize his awkwardness during these moments, his contained anger when seeing these landscapes, and his impatience when faced with playfulness, he thought about justifying himself with:
"Sorry I am acting weird. I was not raised like this".
