I can't remember a single black author of fiction.

Eat shit, I want to see someone critique something someone else wrote, no promise it gets posted on any other thread.

Is it any better than bumping it with complaints?

I have like $6 in bitcoin, so if there are any bored and interested anons willing to beta read and briefly critique my short story i'll happily send a couple bucks in bitzzz.

My high school gf read YA crap, most of my fuck buddies at university didn’t read anything; there’s a cougar I meet sometimes that reads crappy romance novels, she’s fun at least. I have a female friend who really likes Dostoevsky and reads quite a lot but I don’t find her physically attractive.

why are STEMfags so stupid? is it because of educational specialization? i despise the way they flaunt their intellect because they can remember a lot of numbers in a row. congratulations. ever tried talking to one about art, film, society, life, literature, politics, anything sophisticated at all? they are cowards. if they can not retreat into some chart or formula they realize how stupid they actually are. makes me sick.

Hey, /lit/. i was thinking of getting into the Dune series but I heard that the modern entries were trash. Should I just read the original books?

What's a good way to set up th feeling of a room or a place in a story without actually using words for the targeted setting. For Ex, "A room that feels cozy", but you can't use words like cozy or comfortable.

no, it makes you lazy
it causes you to be okay with boredom
it will make you neglect important things in life
it can cause a warped sense of reality that is not beneficial

Herzog is fantastic, lad. What are you on about?
>the moment in Little Dieter Wants to Fly when Dieter’s describing how alien dropping napalm from the air felt, over stock footage of Vietnam that you’ve seen before but all of a sudden, the footage your seeing DOES seem otherworldly and unreal - far from familiar or sensible. The explosions and the smoke amongst the trees like fractals - just empty geometric shapes.
>The entirety of Cave of Forgotten dreams - what would doubtless be overwhelming in person becomes all the more intense with Reijseger’s haunting score - 30,000 years old, but stunningly immediate and moving nevertheless
>The opening of Lo and Behold, pinpointing and presenting the paradigm shifting moment when the internet was birthed
>the SHEER POWER of volcanoes - the absolutely mesmerising montage of pyroclastic flows and magma when he’s talking about the Kraffts.

Herzog consistently throughout his oeuvre has managed to craft these small, sublime moments. Teeny, little glimpses beyond the pall of the mundane, all drawn from real life.

>do I just have shit taste?

I'm gonna be as polite as possible and assume this isn't bait.

If you had shown me that cover without any indication that it's a book, I'd be slightly intrigued. If it were a movie or series I might've watched it with friends for a bit of silly cheesy fun. If it were a videogame I might've played it for some mindless silly fun. However, it is a book. I'm not the type to say "read Tolstoy all day pleb", but in this case I do judge the book by its cover. Why would you ever read such a thing and have ANY expectations whatsoever?

Then again I'm probably replying to bait, but whatever.
