The title story was great. So was "The Tower Of Babylon". "Understand" was good execution of a somewhat cliche conceit. "Seventy-Two Letters" was pretty good but Chiang didn't seem to notice that he was literally describing DNA.

The rest of them, yeah, meh. It would be totally excusable if he didn't spend about a year writing each story.
