Help me out, /lit/bros. I've sent the manuscript to a competition. The result is due to the end of the year. Can I send it to publishers already or that'll fuck me up?

Need advice. I've won 15k from a screenwriting competition recently. Also, I got published in some non-paying magazines. I'm planning on wuitting my teaching job (or at least reducing it to 4 hours a day max). With this money I could survive for at least an year and dedicate myself completely to writing - finishing that novel I've started 2 years ago and participating in more competitions. Is that a good idea?

What do you think about AI being a tool to help artists? Let's suppose I want to write the description of a snowy landscape but I've never seen snow in my life. I input what I want and AI creates the scene for me to continue the story on.

How do I know if my writing sucks? I aim to be as clear as possible and add some flourish here and there, but it seems like it lacks something.

How do you guys get into the zone? It seems I can only write properly at night. I've seen people talking about a personal ritual you should have to get yourself ready.

You seem to consider "immortalization" the only goal writers pursue with literature. There are many reasons to write - and sometimes people write just for the sake of writing and they get published. What if I tell you my story orally? Would this be art?
