I've been hearing about it so I might give it a go. It's headed by that guy behind the Clone Wars cartoon and Samurai Jack, right? In that case it will at the very least have good action scenes.

Yeah, people needlessly ripping off Tolkien are the worst. There's plenty of real world creatures you could draw from, and other myths. Yet we're often stuck with not-orcs, not-elves and the rest of caricatures of the LotR races. It's terrible. Although I will say I put blatant furry content on the same level.

Stephen King is basically a modern pulp writer. He shovels out garbage like a machine and I think some people might still read his stuff in the years to come but it will be increasingly niche. In the end pretty much only a few cinematic adaptions will be remembered, like The Shining.
