In my literature class this chick complained that Borges uses "highfalutin words" in The Book of Sand. Among the words she listed were "melancholy, misanthropic, bibliophile, and illustration." Fucking illustration. She went on to suggest that this memoir writer we were looking at alongside Borges was superior for using "a relaxed sort of tone."
