this isn't profound at all; the Geist section is little more than common sense wrapped in verbose autism.

I just finished 100 pages of Phenomenology of Spirit. Does it get harder to understand later on? It feels like it's too simple. I don't find myself disagreeing or having meaningful comments on a lot of it. It's almost like the book is just articulating things I already agree with. Is there something more? Also now that I've gotten this far, reading it seems more like a chore, rather than a treat which is what it started as. Would it be acceptable for me to either skip the rest of the book or move onto a different book for the time being?

How do I know if I am ready and worthy enough to read this?

What does /lit/ think about Hegel?

I planning on reading this PoS (inb4 piece of shit, that's the point) at the start of next year. I'm really excited, but I want to refresh my memory (last philosophy book I read was at the end of August was Faith and Knowledge by Hegel). I did write down notes on German idealism, but I want to, once again, see the system in its entirety, as well as its evolution since Kant.
What book do you recommend to prepare myself for Hegel?

PS. I read Kant, Fichte, and Schelling (as well as many before them), I just want a 'reminder' and a bigger picture to better understand Hegel
PPS. inb4 "skip him" or "just read Schopie", I don't care
