When I read that book, my whole life became focussed on ww1 for a short time. Read all the history books, looked at all the paintings, even had plans for some shitty point-and-click horror game.

And then reality kicked in, and I realized it was just another shitty book. 10/10, would read again

I wanted to help out. I had thought out this story about a magically space hippo who traveled to a planet made of chocolate. He was in search of a sentient frying he was dating. Everyone had become zombies from eating too much chocolate on this planet. The magical space hippo would team up with a man that could shoot spaghetti from his eyes. He was comic relief in this very serious tale of a lost space hippo trapped on chocolate zombie planet. The magical space hippo and the man who could shoot spaghetti from his eyes would save the sentient frying pan from the zombies with the power of friendship and pepto bismol.
The entire thing would be an allegory to the drug war waging in Mexico right now.

Does /lit do the whole constructive criticism for writers and stuff? I'm working on a novel and was wondering where a good place to bounce ideas was.

Afternoon /lit/, how do requests usually get taken here? /co/ and /tg/ aren't too hostile, but other boards will pretty much just flame you to pieces.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm looking for a digital copy of "The road not taken" by harry turtledove (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Road_Not_Taken_%28short_story%29))
it's a science fiction story i read on the internet awhile ago that i didn't have the foresight to save. It was an interesting little tale involving conquistador alien invaders with flint lock rifles because the discovery of gravity manipulation was so baffling their scientists just gave up.
