what version of finnegans wake is the best one?
i've seen pic rel a lot in here, but other versions are much cheaper. any version that comes with annotations would help, since english isn't my first language.

This is literally gibberish. I'm convinced only poseurs and frauds say they like this book for pseud cred. Also can we stop pretending that having muh high brow references makes a book good? It's cringe as hell. Joyce and Toilets ruined modernism with this garbage.

Since this book is the conclusion of all literature, mogging everything that came before and after, and it's basically music in prose form, I'd say the aesthetic quality of the prose must be what's most important.

I'm currently reading We Always Treat Women Too Well by Raymond Queneau. Excellent and hilarious read so far about the 1916 Easter rebellion in Dublin. In it, the Irish nationalists always shout at each other "Finnegans Wake!" as a kind of motto. They do that a lot and I wondered if any Irish/Anglo bro could tell me if there was more behind this expression other than Joyce's novel. Or more generally was could the title imply in this context (I haven't read FW).
Also I guess general appreciation thread for Joyce/Queneau, two great writers of the 20th century. What are your favourite works by them?
