Why are they such philistines? It's probably the least intellectual board on here but you would think having money would give you the free time to read books and partake in fine art

Okay, I don't really read but I'll still answer.
So Heidegger was all about Being, and being true to yourself. That's correct. Wittgenstein was pretty cool talking about math and shit, language shouldn't be considered correct. It's a flawed tool to communicate abstractions which is correct. Wittgenstein was pretty correct. I only know that one dude from space-taoism threads. Deuluze was also correct, but not about identity, imagine yourself as a small rhizome within a rhizome and that rhizome is within an even bigger Plotinian rhizomic All. Maybe that's his philosophy and I'm just being dumb. Basically I'm a 19 year old not really getting what I'm saying, hahah. Hold up, let me self reflect through my monocle. A yes, cringe. A prime example. Snap and spank a butt.

Revolt Against The Modern World is probably the best place to start.

What's /lit/'s opinion on Julius Evola's work? I've just started reading 'revolt against the modern world' and I'm somewhat confused by how the supernatural is taken for granted and a few other things.

I've just started browsing this board, I have only read a few books so far; please don't bully me ;_;
