I'm excited tonight bros.

Last semester I went out for a couple weeks with this gal who was just spectacular. She was beautiful, smart as a whip, she had a great sense of humor, always quick with puns, just an all around knock out.
Unfortunately we parted ways due to some personal stuff on her end and she wanted some space. I was a little bit sad cause we were having such a great time together, but I understood. And I wasn't too upset because there were some other flirts I was able to get to in the meantime.
I'm excited because the new semester's kicked up and she's back in town. I hit her up since I still had her number and we were back to making silly puns all over again, it was like not a day had gone by. I asked her if she wanted to go out and do something, so tomorrow morning we're gonna grab some coffee (she's a caffeine fiend) and head to the record shop.
I can't wait to see her again bros. She's so cute and much smarter than I am in so many ways. Probably more well-read too, and she loves all that old stuff the same as me: Gershwin tunes and 40's movies. I think things are brewing up again and it makes me happy.

At the university, I take a poetry class. It's mostly a fun and interesting class, but there's one issue that bothers me. Other students seem hesitant to discuss biblical/religious influences and themes in the poetry we read, no matter the level of clarity.

As far as I can see it, whether you are religious or not, it seems undeniable that the majority of the great art and literature of the world is religious in some way or another.

Are there any significant literature works/movements or writers who are irreligious or blatantly anti-religion?
Why are students reluctant to discuss the religious themes of great art and literature?

Do any of you have any book recommendations and/or advice on proper Jewish prayer?

At the moment, attending Temple, as much as I would like to, is not possible, so I must pray at home.

Any suggestions for a specific siddur I should buy?

Hello friends, I need advice on how to pray properly. I've been reading a lot of theology and religious-inspired lit recently and though I am pretty pious as it is, I want to start taking my religion more seriously.
I am Jewish, but my parents never went to temple, and I haven't been since I when I was too young too even remember it.

Are there any books that I need in order to pray? or any books that will help me learn to pray properly?

Allow me to distill some advice already given and add my own.

1) Confront sources of anxiety.
2) Stop taking your life seriously.
3) Avoid processed foods and added caffeine. A cup of coffee in the morning is fine.
4) start riding a bike. Best way to tire yourself out, but only two hours before bed at the latest.
5) Avoid all electronics and sources of artificial light, particularly blue light, two hours before bed.
6) Don’t sit up reading in bed. Bed is for sleep.
7) Don’t nap in the day, no matter how tired.
8) Spend more of your day on your feet. Don’t sit at your desk if you can help it.
9) Quit video games. Dopamine rush of playing will keep you awake at night.
10) Go ahead and read that book. Try minding the breath.
