Do writers ever choose between self-imposed options when writing? Why? If they were creative, wouldn't they just combine all their ideas?

Why do writers ever make choices? Don't they realize the freedom that writing provides? Or are their minds so enslaved by society that they can't even appreciate such boundless potential?

It depends what you are looking for:
The portable atheist: short essays by famous authors, more "personnal experience" atheism and striking satire and criticism.

Cambridge Companion or Oxford Handbook on Atheism: Pure academia, with quotations and everything. Systematic argumentation and classified thought.

Both are good though: you can read an essay once in a while. Purchase/borrow both and read from both.
