Is it too self-satisfying to have the end antagonist of a standalone novel be the psychic manifestation of the protagonist's longing for his past?

Been reading the Hong translation of "The Seducer's Diary", and the preface tells me Kierkegaard had a drunken encounter with a prostitute in November 1836.

Does anyone else feel an immense amount of pity for straight-up normal people? It's strange, even when they seem perfectly happy, when I see someone unironically posting a selfie or talking about how much they "loooove" their girlfriend on a social media website, I just start feeling sad for them.

It's like there's a curtain of awareness that they haven't really lifted, and probably never will. They'll just die unaware of so many things.

It makes me feel sad whenever I see people like that, like there's no way to help them.

>tfw experienced a psychotic break a semester before finishing my English / Ed degree
>have to drop the education part for the sake of my sanity
>I've taken everything but student teaching, so maybe a few years down the line I can come back and finish that up
>graduating with just an English degree
>ask the college what my twelve education classes counted for
>"Nothing :^)"
What the fuck, guys

Is there some sort of prolific, online creative writing class, /lit/? I would love to join a group of people who meet once a week / two weeks who critique each others' works, especially if it's some sort of program.
