Read a few different translations, it’s a 10/10 one of the best books ever written. I’d recommend Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky’s translation, if you find that one hard to read you should maybe try reading some earlier Russian literature for context, Dead Souls would be an good place to start.

Books are as beautiful as they can move you, answer questions , ask harder ones and make you ponder on their conflicts long after reading them. A Harry Potter book can do little of that compared to Dosto.
