Since starting with the Greeks, commencing with the Chinese and initiating with the Indians I'm increasingly committed to living a simple austere life.

It's working out well for me, the only obstacle is that I might have to get a job again soon. But that could also be seen as training perhaps.

>gf because that is literally your reason for existing,
Monogamous partnership only came about during the last 5% of the existence of humans, anon. gfs are a meme, not hardwired.

We are social creatures of course and desire company, but a gf is just one of the many ways to get it, and arguably an inferior one that causes a lot of stress and problems.

It's more prudent to focus on rewarding relationships with friends and family and view romantic relationships as optional if not downright undesirable.

Life is shit, carve out a little niche for yourself and try to get as comfy as possible.

Looking at the world in such a way will make you very grateful for the simple things. At least it does for me. Lying in my warm bed without having to worry about food, clothes and shelter feels like I've won.

Epicureanism has changed my perception of existence for the better.

Felt a sense of emptiness and futility mostly from previously harbouring wrong expectations about the world, mostly unconsciously or at least not deliberately. When I came to terms with things as they were eventually it got better.

You should not only start with the Greeks but ultimately end there as well.

Plebs having debauched fun isn't hedonism. They aren't consciously trying to maximise pleasure in their lives, they just have monkey orgies.

Pic related is a real hedonist.

I looked to Epicurus to put some structure to my void dwelling.

It works well for those who otherwise don't bear ideology too well. I recommend it.
