Homer, Ovid and Virgil wrote in Dactylic Hexameter. Shakespeare wrote sonnets in Iambic Pentameter. Dante wrote in Terza Rima.

Literal who 2deep4u slam poets with dyed hair and tattoos rattle off free verse.

Perhaps the greatest writers of all time did not know how to compose in free verse. Surely the opposite cannot be true.

I’ve heard all the arguments for lot on intellectual and spiritual grounds. Convince me on strictly material ones.
