I'll never understand the fetish that the left has for Islam. It's antithetical to everything they stand for.

I want to read Hegel really badly, because he's one of the most influential continental philosophers and apparently a real mind-blowing experience once you 'get' him. But it seems like a really, really daunting task. What should i read before starting with Hegel, and where should i start?
