I would say read the Republic and any other dialogues that seem interesting to you based on the description. If you are getting something out of them and enjoying yourself, then keep reading. Otherwise, don't listen to the other Anons as it is OK for a self-taught student of philosophy to not read every work by Plato.

If you follow this meme, however, get some some reading practice beforehand: read the Socratic dialogues. They're not difficult to read and they are very thought-provoking.

Do I need to read all these retarded dialogues before getting into Republic? I read everything up to Symposium (didnt read Gorgias) and the only one I really liked was the Symposium, the rest didn't give me much.

Do you have one for Aristotle?
I am finally abut to finish reading and noting these.

Anyone have something like this, or some similar recommendation, for Aristotle? I'm on Meno right now, my plan for Aristotle so far is: Organon, Physics, Metaphysics, De Caelo, De Anima, then Nichomachaen Ethics, then Politics.
