Just finished this. I knew the ending was going to be rough from about the half way point of the second book, but I didn't realise how rough it really would be.
I think I want to read more of the Valdemar books at some time. Would it just be best to start at the beginning? Or is there a trilogy anyone could recommend based on really liking this one?

Also, any other good books about emotionally broken gay wizards suffering endlessly? This trilogy made me so horny and lonely I'm almost enjoying my depression.
