Before reading pic related last week all I had read of DeLillo was White Noise and a short story collection called The Angel Esmeralda. I enjoyed White Noise as a college Freshman mostly because of its humor and I was surprised and a little put off when I started Zero K and it was stone serious.

When did DeLillo give up on humor? I feel like it weakened any satire in Zero K, and it would have been a much better book if he just let himself poke some fun at the futurists. Has anyone else read this or other "late-DeLillo" novels?

Anyone read this? Picked it up the other day, along with the angel esmeralda. Haven't read much newer donny d but I've heard good things about this one
