Most people seem to like Kafka on this board but do the anti-semites like him? If not what do you think his agenda is as you seem to think all Jews have an agenda. Is it merely to gain sympathy and respect for Jews by writing insightful stories?

I don't get his short stories. What's the point of a one paragraph story? Are there any essential works besides Metamorphosis and The Trial?

Surely, one of Kafka’s most enigmatic, bizarre, but interesting stories. I remember being utterly bewildered by it when I read it for the first time, many years ago. It took many rereads to even start to appreciate it. Why does nobody talk about it?

What is the most high-brow literature that you can expect a woman to enjoy? I notice a trend among literature-interested women enjoying certain authors or books. They tend to like Kafka, Murakami, Dostoevsky, philosophy, psychoanalysis and sometimes postmodernism. They also tend to not be fond of poetry, epic poetry, and books about male emotions (ie. Young Werther). There has to be some kind of female canon available somewhere. Maybe a woman has a blog or a Goodreads account where there's an easily available list of this type of canon. Can someone help me find it?

Why does the general public sympathize with authors such as Kafka, but continue to berate and make life harder for those alive today who are clearly disturbed and traumatized?
I'm sure their justification for abusing such already traumatized people is something along the lines of "they are probably a mass shooter, they deserve it," which is ridiculous and just wrong. There is nothing righteous about kicking a man while he is down, and if every odd looking man was actually a mass shooter then mass shootings would become an actual threat rather than a boogeyman created by journalistic exploitation.
