Why does Hiro allow ads for NSFW boards on blue boards? And why does /pol/ have porn ads if porn isn't allowed there (unless it's BBC porn posted by a (((memeflag))))?

I'm not the only one who thinks automobiles are a huge fucking scam, right?

Too much about them just doesn't add up. I'm not sure there's even enough petroleum on the planet to motorize every single cart and carriage. We keep being promised "better engine technology" but it keeps not materializing; I remember when better engines were "just around the corner" more than a decade ago. The biggest automobile car maker is Ford, but Ford seems to be a huge ponzi scheme propped up by hype, magical thinking, and government subsidies. Motorized cars in general are way more expensive than horse-drawn carriages. And when they run out of petrol you have to buy new petrol, and AS they run out of fuel the range of the car decreases. And motorized cars doesn't even begin to address the railway industry and the naval industry, two huge consumers of petroleum.

I've posted about this on /o/ before, obviously, but I'm just completely sour on motorized cars now. It all feels like a lot of hype and feel-good bullshit. I don't think they're going to work long-term and I feel like 50 years from now we'll look back and think about how ridiculous the hype around them was.

I'm a fucking rube and mostly read fiction if I read at all, but in school I had to take a class on Philosophy, and I'm having a hard time actually absorbing any of the information. I think this is partly because I'm an add retard, and also because I flood myself with /biz/ and /pol/ dopamine. The fact that the content is so abstract on top of it being gay school shit makes me lazy as hell and just look for videos to tell me the same shit. So what I'm wondering is how I'd get better at maintaining focus on these things. Any help would be appreciated, I don't want to be a pants-shitting moron forever

This decade is almost over, has there been any worthwhile literature? Not counting My Struggle because that started in the 2000s
Hard mode: any worthwhile literature not by already established authors
Impossible mode: clear classics of our time

Can anyone recommend me poems for if I really, really like The Raven, Ozymandias and Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening?
Also can someone explain what's so good about Emily Dickinson, I feel like a brainlet but there's nothing to her as far as I can see.
