It's no wonder /lit/ has nothing but contempt for STEM. They're too stupid to understand and cannot engage well enough with STEM subjects to see its applications in the real world. I will say this: in my modest 4 years of thermodynamic-heavy engineering degree I learned more about the world, and gained more humility than 15 years of reading philosophy books.
Philosophy, literature and art should only be a hobby, mind-exercise or a stepping stone into Law or Economics.
Only a true pseud would study academic philosophy for the sake of philosophy.
