Firstly, morality is believed to have begun as 'work together and kill freeriders or die', that's hardly an abstract concept. It's very concrete actually.

Secondly 'the concept of morality or state is merely fiction' is a completely trivial sentence used to to be an edgelord attentionwhore and to sell books. You could argue that the whole of your life is pure perception and you're a brain in a vat and everything is purely fiction, who cares?
Obviously they're not 'merely' fiction since they work together with the universe in such a way to promote life and advanced societies. The fact that a 'state' doesn't wholly (the army of a state exists, the buildings exist) exists physically? No fucking shit sherlock, how hard has this society degraded in order to think this is an interesting concept on which to sell a book? Holy cancer woman jew nigger fuck. This is an introductory book if you're getting into real thinking about the world. I read it at 18, I found it good then because I didn't know SHIT. Sapiens is now a 5/10, Deus a 0/10 for me after maturing intellectually.
