>Nooooooo you can't claim these brilliant minds. They were children of their times and you have to put them into historical perspective. Plato only was skeptical of democracy because there weren't many alternatives back in the day, if he lived in our day and age he would totally support the ruling ideology and the ruling regime. What he said has no validity to today's world anyways, except if what he said coincides with what I believe.

Hey /lit /. So I'm depressed and suicidal and shit. I was thinking about Japanese karoshi and I was thinking, would it be possible to work (study) myself to death? I feel like it would be a valuable experiment. How can I go about it? Any books about this?

I wanna read some HARD science fiction.
>aka very scientifically accurate and logical

Isaac Asimov sounds interesting, though I haven’t gotten around to actually reading him. Any other good names for me? Where to start? I’m completely new to this genre.

Most people are stuck in the false dichotomy that morality must either come from god or it cannot exist. That there is some kind of philosophical law saying that a guidebook must come from above or there cannot be any rules at all.

But this is not necessarily true. There are many other philosophical explanations for the concept of morality. What if it comes from within? Whether than means it comes from evolution or instinct or something else, you decide, Every human deep down knows right from wrong.
>but what about the people who don’t understand right from wrong
That is because there is something wrong with them. Psychopathy is a form of mental illness which blocks out empathy.

Of course, you can differ from the norm slightly without being diagnosed as a psychopath. This is why everyone has different ideas when it comes to specific smaller things, but the vast majority of people can still agree that things like murder and rape are amoral.

How long are your reading sessions?

I can do ~1 hr but depends on the book mainly, I'd say 1h on avg
Anywhere past that and I start to lose focus, understand less and get frustrated often

Based.
The book is retarded tier postmodernism.
If you're white, you're racist. If you claim you aren't, it's your white fragility and you are still racist. The solution she proposes is brainwashing ('unconscious bias training'), which she happens to offer with her company. Meta analyses of implicit bias training point out that it's completely useless. Everybody knows that any postmodernism form of activism is internally inconsistent and hypocritical and useless.

If you like even one word from what's in this book, you failed the IQ test of life.

We and the entire cosmos are teleologically being drawn to de Chardin's Omega Point which is Christ himself, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end. Christ is both the originator and the Alpha point of our current universe, the originator, that bubbling of nothingness, creation of ex nihilo of Big Bang, and the convergence and death of this same universe in the Omega Point, but this point is also the singularity of Penrose's Conformal Cyclical Cosmology ie the Omega point is the singularity and the Alpha point of the next universe, of the new heavens and earth through which the blessed pass into a higher spiritual state and receive new spiritual bodies while the damned are permanently lost in the "death" of the previous universe. People who die prematurely exist either in a state of Grace that they will enjoy fully in a spiritual kind of body that they will receive in the next universe, or in a state of damnation, whereby they will cease to exist, alongside with the spiritual condition of hell as the New Heavens are created. Christ is not only the Alpha and the Omega, but also the originator of this teleological process itself, which uses the conformal cyclical cosmology to advance people in spiritual maturity. Those who are faithful to Christ advance and are the wheat, those who refuse to be faithful to Christ cannot make it through the singularity event and are the chaff that get thrown away.

What's the point of reading a book if you'll forget 95% of its contents anyways?

Either read a handful of books dozens of times to really remember their contents, or actually reading a great deal of literature and forget all about it in the near future? Lose lose situation.

Learning about Orwell’s past is the ultimate BTFO to conservatives. They recommend his books as “anti-communist” when it was in fact the opposite. They’re incapable of understanding leftist infighting (tankies vs anarkiddies) which is what 1984/Animal Farm actually was. A well devised criticism of Stalinism as a “betrayal”.

I'm honestly confused by YA. Like, why would you still read that shit in your late teens/twenties? I really just don't understand. Why don't they try out something that is known to have literary merit? This is why I never watch booktube, because 96% of it is just females with shelves upon shelves of YA behind them, giving their shitty takes.

A threesome of two girls and one man, though a common fantasy of many men, is in fact decadent and unreasonable. This is because a man only has one penetrative organ, and cannot possibly show equal attention to both women at the same time leading to non-optimal pleasure for everyone involved. On the other hand, a threesome of two men and one woman is a beautiful thing. A woman has a total of three holes, more than capable of accommodating up to three men at once, as long as they are willing to share.
