That was one of the biggest wastes of money I ever made. Also, my edition had hundreds of errors, mostly with missing punctuation. I have the Vintage UK edition.

It's curious, people here wouldn't shut up about IJ for 18 months or so. Now, you honestly don't see it mentioned much. In a general sense, Infinite Jest is the bread and butter of any literary message board. I've been on a few, and they were all obsessed with it.

Dunno about GR though. I mean, /lit/ never talked about it overly much. They discuss Pynchon's other books though, and Pynchon himself, I suppose.

This book is taking me forever to read, I think at about 6 months now. I must admit, after a carnival of crap in the first half, things have improved slightly in the second half. The stuff in the navy was kinda cool, and now there's been a timeskip which had made things interesting.

Only 150 pages or so to go now, which presumably I'll be able be to get through.
