Modern French is very artificial. Lots of rules and exceptions made only to make the language appear more pretty. But the the spoken tongue is absolutely inconsistent dogshit where half the letters are not even pronounced. I blame the Parisians and their faggot varierity what got too popular. French could've been so much better.

French didn't exactly change naturally. The French Academy, stubborn cunts that they are, failed to do a good job on updating the orthography so it represented the current state of the language and also added lots of nonsense (like adding a random T in the middle of some constructions) and tons of exceptions. The Spanish Academy, on the other hand, did an impeccable job on the orthography.
