I did everything I was told by society that would make me successful by working hard and leaning into math BUT getting a bachelors or masters or even associates in STEM. I thought all school had STEM elements. Wrong. 50k down 4 years later I find out the math avoidant crowd won and ransacked society from all nominal merits and credits.
I tutored Calc2. Was denied entry to LinALG, DifEq, Calc3. I was even denied entry to basketball games told that I need a sports advisor inquiry to schedule to find out when the basketball games are at my community college (an MC Escher building in a small ugly concrete desert town full of the oldest fattest most Jewish new yorker retirees)
I taught the lowest level math course at a community college.
People who have never measured are not just common they are a sound majority of main street's dumb money and most boomers most boomer inheritance.
I find reluctant sympathy for OP as a die hard math fanatic who was born into poverty into a family of actual tards. Im skilled though. I was told do math and it will do you well. I studied business. I picked the most math intensive math classes business school could offer short of going to the capitol city for actuarial science (big debt debtmaxx). I avoided debt and got into accounting which is where jobs actually start instead of filibuster resume cocksucking shoe shining begging. American Academia is anemic while hosting the illusory world of modern math. It is exclusive to STEM majors. They invented my meme major MIS out of bullshit and gave me a link to codeacademy and khanacademy. Horizon after horizon no one like you math majors , the worst engineers, the most zogged bill nye sodomized physcists. The accountant alone stood his post. Fat. Bloated. Withered skin. Eating vending machine slop. But still gainfully employed during 2020 rock solid entry.
