There are threads about Advaita Vedanta and Buddhism daily on here, but there's barely any discussion about other schools within Hinduism.
Kashmir Shaivism is metaphysically similar to Advaita traditions as far as nonduality etc are concerned, but there is a major difference insofar as Pratyabhijna gives metaphysical importance to Activity (making it somewhat comparable to process philosophy). I am not very knowledgeable at all about Pratyabhijna (or most Asian philosophy tbf) but I am developing quite an interest in it, so it would be nice to consider it also in relation to the other schools that are more frequently talked about on /lit/ and if anyone has any recs or knowledge to share, please do

Disregard advaita.

Read the Upanishads, Baghavad Gita, Yoga Sutras, Vigyan Bhairav Tantra, Siva Sutras, Spanda Karika, Doctrine of Recognition, and Abhinavagupta.

Also most scholars recognize cross-pollination without being butthurt so ignore these assblasted fags.

Sup, hindooboos. Where do I get started with Tantric philosophy? Should I start with Jaideva Singh's translations? In which order should they be read? What is the best Tantraloka translation?

What are the best obscure works of philosophy? I have read the major works of Ancient Greeks, Romans, Medievals, Hindus, Buddhists, Daoists, Moderns, Postmoderns, etc. Insofar as I have read so far, I like the German Idealists and their French Heirs best. I believe in progress in metaphysics, so preferably recommend me something newer. I have been quite impressed with some works recommended here, such as Stirner and Michelstaedter. No memes like speculative realism and accelerationism please.

Why should one choose advaita vedanta over other orthodox hindu schools such as yoga with more clear maps of attainment of initiation of knowledge of the absolute or other unorthodox schools such as tantra (pic related) that allow one to pursue more pleasures on the path?

Philfag here. Recently finished Bryant's Yoga Sutras. Excellent stuff. Already familiar with Baghavad Gita and Upanishads. Have flirted around Buddhism as well. Where do I start with Tantra? Should I just read Jaideva Singh then the badass motherfucker in pic related? If so, what is the best translation of his magnum opus? Also, should I try Yogavataranam or Cambridge for learning Sanskrit?

Abhinavagupta's magnum opus, the Tantraloka, has a chapter dedicated to summarizing various Tantric sexual practices/rituals. You'll have to order one of the expensive unabridged translations to get the full chapter though
