This makes me feel bad. I used to write fan-fic but stopped close to a decade ago and to this day I'll still get emails asking if I'll ever pick certain stories back up. It kind of makes me happy in a way though, means I've at least made stories good enough that readers want resolution.

They're an easy group to shit on. They hold very cynical and negative views about the world while also being straight males (which are considered to be the "top" of the hierarchy). Making fun of people who can't get laid has also been part of the mainstream cultural conscious for decades now so they just end up fucked from all fronts.
The word incel has also been watered down to mean anyone who criticizes promiscuity or has any negative view on women. I've been called incel online quite a few times just because I think women are retarded as a whole and, while you anons have no reason to believe me, I'm more attractive than most and have never had an issue with women. The word has become meaningless.

It's hard to unless they naturally have an inclination towards being a shut-in. When everyone your age takes part in the system it's hard to detach yourself from it without being a pariah. I'm 25 so I think that makes me a zoomer as well, but I remember not having a smartphone in highschool when they started coming out and how it made being "in" a little harder. I can only imagine it's gotten worse for younger zoomers.

The first four have deep occultic themes. The director always had an interest in western mysticism and he made sure to weave the game world to reflect many of these. 1, 3, and 4 in particular are the heaviest in regards to these, while 2 is more a psychological horror and has inspirations from Dostoevsky's work, primarily Crime and Punishment.

The games cultivate the lonely and alien atmosphere of the Zone better than the Roadside Picnic (though not as good as the film).

A point-and-click adventure game that Ellis himself helped write. It's superior to the book in my opinion, just for the fact that it expands on the world and characters that Ellis created. It's nigh-impossible to get a good ending without cheating, because Ellis originally didn't want to have a good ending be possible at all, so I recommend playing without a guide.

A beautiful and atmospheric game. It's Lord of the Flies but with young girls. Anyone that grew up around rapacious and vindictive girls in school will relate to this heavily. A reviewer succinctly described the general tone as a fear of women. Gameplay is shit though.

If you have any interest in Gnosticism, then this is the best. You can see parallels to the spiritual philosophy all throughout the game.

>The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
Ocarina of Time is a good retelling of the monomyth, while Majora's Mask takes the monomyth and turns it into a schizo nightmare. MM also convinced me that video games are the only medium that can do the themes of time-traveling well.

This game was originally going to be a play. I can't remember why it didn't workout that way but they stay faithful to the idea of being a play within the game. This is a dense game and has been known to filter retards who can't grasp complex dialogue.

Replicant and Automata are both meta-narrative games with Automata hamfisting philosophy at every turn. They're well-written but it can come off as pretentious and most of the philosophical themes are surface level, that being said Yoko Taro the games director is a well-read individual.
