The worst story by far is Josh V Brock, who slapped [Illegible] onto the letter he was inventing whenever he needed to avoid using his imagination, and put footnotes in that told the reader exactly what they were supposed to think and when. It tracks that the little about the author section he got mentioned that he was a vegan.
The good stories aren't that great. The vast majority fail to stick the landings. The Skinless Face introduces a really neat, creepy idea of this ancient statue that makes you see your own face on it and then instantly turns into a The Thing-style murder massacre. Dead Media literally stops halfway through where the author wrote himself into a corner to expedition dump the rest of the story.
I think you can safely give "Lovecraftian" horror a miss, and just read Lovecraft and his buddies, or stuff that has evolved from Lovecraft rather than deliberately trying to be him.
The story with the machine learning Lovecraft AI plugged into a guy's brain was cool. He even said nigger.
